Malcolm in the Meddle
Finally... after all that's gone on at the ranchito this summer, I squeezed in a firing that was loaded up a week ago using the famed Malcolm Davis Shino recipe that I've played with in the past year.
That and a Temoku glaze that I really like. Between the two, so many variables.
Experimenting with some learn-ed application techniques for dealing with the Shino.
Simpler is the better direction.
Fired the kiln in heavy reduction. Next step will be re-configuring the kiln so that more flame and carbon reach the surfaces of the ware.
All in all, still a learning curve, but happy with the general results considering my meddlin' about...
